Oregon Antelope

Having been diagnosed at age 12 I had to grow up, no ifs ands or buts! It’s not something any child should have to endure, however, hunting is my escape. I have been hunting since I was two-weeks old; my father took me on a cow elk hunt with him when I was yet to be a month old in Flagstaff, Arizona. So I guess it’s kind of a good fit! 2-24-14 was the day that changed my life, I was diagnosed with a 2.6cm, inoperable brainstem glioma that was and is still to this day embedded within my brain stem. Since diagnosis I have experienced a years round of temozolomide chemo therapy and god only knows how many MRIs, which I have gotten through with the support of family and friends as well as the grace of god. I was invited to participate in an antelope hunt through C.O.C.O; In Mitchell, Oregon. (Which was an amazing experience having lived in the desert Southwest my whole life). I must say what an amazing time me and my father had while on this trip. The hospitality alone was enough to make me say I want to go back, let alone the views and scenery of the state and of the ranch. I would just like to say that I have participated in guided in the past. Having taken a 180” Muley from Gunnison, Colorado with Hunt of A Lifetime; to being guided on The Kings Ranch, Texas through BuckMasters where I took a 145” whitetail that I had spotted myself: this was by far mine and my fathers favorite hunt hands down. The Murphy family are angels on earth and should be looked at as such. Just in the little time we spent there they became family. They were gracious towards us for all the little things we did to try and help however they deserve all the praise for doing this year in and year out. What an amazing organization, I am proud to say I have hunted with C.O.C.O.

Thank you for your kind words Jason! Welcome to the family. You’re incredible!
